While midi-skirts have had their moment in the fashion spotlight, and have proven to be a great alternative to pants, hemlines are on the rise – it’s the mini skirts time to shine. Although this leg-bearing trend was ironically seen in fall/winter collections, don’t write off its potential. I’m going to call it and say that you won’t be seeing a lot of minis in Winter here in Calgary (although you never know), but in Fall, definitely yes. When layered properly, the mini works as a great transitional piece, and can stick around all season. Want some ideas of how to wear a mini skirt for fall, keep reading!

Pair a printed mini like I did above with a knit sweater to stay cozy, and keep your feet cozy too in some oxfords.

To show off the detail of this wrap skirt I would tuck in an oxford shirt and layer a classic sweater over top for added warmth.

I love the texture of this skirt. Pair it with classic sneakers, a simple white sweatshirt, and a varsity jacket for a cool-girl vibe.

Wear this brown suede mini with a light grey roll-neck sweater and booties for a simple, and oh-so-cozy fall look.

Embroidery is huge for fall, embrace the trend with this mini and pair it with a black turtleneck, a blazer with oversized gold buttons, and lace-up high heel ankle boots, or swap the heels for flat strappy shoes.

Pair an oversized sweater with this skirt so the hemline peeks out the bottom. To keep those gams warm, add a pair of over-the-knee boots like these.

I hope this gives you some inspiration, and proves that lower temps and higher hemlines can be practical!

Until next time,

Courtney
