Stripes are a classic print, and a staple to have in any wardrobe – I would even consider them a neutral. Pair a classic striped sweater or tee with a trench and dark denim for a polished Parisian-esque look, or go playful, and add florals to the mix for an unexpected, but complimentary combination. While classic is, well, classic, this season, stripes are going beyond the navy-and-white nautical ones we all know and love. Some run horizontal, others vertical, some are super skinny, while others are bold, thick lines. Whatever the case – the stripe is back, and in a spectrum of colours, so have fun!
I’ve been loving the 80’s and 90’s influence on fashion right now, and the stripe is too. The pop of red on this colorblock sweater from Zara drew me in. While I can’t seem to find it online, you can shop a similar look here , or here. I’ve been looking for a pair of denim with exposed buttons, and love the high waist and distressed details of this pair from Abercrombie. To complete the look, I went with a classic pair of oxfords, like these. I hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend, and let me know how you will be mixing in stripes this upcoming season!
Until next time,
