While you may already have your outfit picked out for heart’s day, be it dinner out, a date night in, or a galentine’s extravaganza, have you thought about what you are going to wear on your pout? It goes without saying that red lips are synonymous with Valentine’s Day. And although I love the classic scarlet shade, it is definitely not the only lip colour fit for the kiss-filled day. Whether you are loyal to a matte red shade, or looking for something in a nude or pink hue, I’ve got you covered. Below I’ve included 3 lipsticks for Valentine’s Day that will work for whatever the night may throw your way. Keep reading to find out my pics for the perfect Valentine’s lips!
You can never go wrong with a classic nude. What I like about this Charlotte Tilbury lipstick (besides the beautiful packaging) is that it isn’t super concealer-esque light – it has a peachy pink tint to it which gives your lips some warmth. If you are looking for a more beige nude, I recommend this one from Bite Beauty, or if you prefer a really light pink nude I would try out this one from Marc Jacobs Beauty.
If I could have the entire Bite Beauty line, I would. I love how richly pigmented their amuse bouche lipsticks are, not to mention they are so creamy and moisturizing, the citrus scent is made from fresh pressed fruit, and the line comes from Toronto, go Canada! While I have a few shades from them, this one is my pick for a perfect pink that isn’t too bold. While it looks quite mauve in the tube, on my lips it turns into a beautiful brighter pink shade that isn’t over the top neon.
I had to include a red. While red lipstick often takes me back to my dance competition days, I feel classy, not stage-ready in this one from MAC. I love the matte finish of this lipstick, and I find that the blue undertones of the shade flatter my colouring best (blue-red lipsticks tend to suit slightly pink complexions and can even make your teeth appear whiter, bonus!). The formula is slightly dry, so I always apply a balm beforehand to give my lips some moisture.
That’s it! What are the go-to shades you are thinking about rocking this Valentine’s?
Until next time,
