A few posts back I mentioned that H&M launched online shopping to Canada, and earlier this week I got my order in the mail, woohoo! Don’t you just love when you see that little slip of paper in your mailbox? I know I sure do! I was really excited to try on one of the shirts I bought because as much as I’ve been loving the glossy texture of silk and satin lately, I don’t actually have that many pieces in the dreamy fabric. I picked up a mock-neck blouse, and let me tell you, it does not disappoint. I was surprised by the quality and fit of the blouse – the fabric feels luxuriously smooth and the fit is slimming, yet comfy (just FYI, I got a size 6, which is the equivalent of a size small in US and Canada sizing). I kept the overall look neutral because all black doesn’t have to be boring. The key is mixing in different textures and fabrics to break things up, and keep you from looking like you’re wearing a black onesie. Leopard is back in a big way again (although I don’t think it ever really goes away to be honest ), but instead of choosing the bold, but popular leopard coat, I chose to be subtle, and incorporate the print with a pair of heels instead. I think this shirt is going to be versatile with the upcoming holiday season – you could pair it with a crystal choker, or tassel earrings to draw attention to the neckline even more, tuck it into a party skirt, or wear it with simple trousers for a polised look. There’s so many choices – stay tuned!
PS I can NOT wait for the holidays!
Until next time,
